How To Apply Vinyl Stickers on Chalkboards

Before you begin, clean your chalkboard with a wet cloth to remove any chalk dust or ghosting left behind. If you leave chalk dust behind, your decal won’t stick securely to the board.

Once you’ve cut your vinyl decal design, take the transfer tape off the back and carefully stick the decal on the board, ensuring no air bubbles. 

To get an authentic chalk sign look, add chalk to your board. Instead of directly drawing on the board, take a piece of chalk, place it in a Ziplock bag, and then crush it into dust. How To Remove Decals From Chalkboards

Vinyl stickers can damage the chalkboard surface if you’re not careful when removing the sticker. However, there is an easy way to remove the vinyl from chalkboards. The good ol’ soap-and-water combination works like a charm. Pick any soap of your choice, then make a soap-and-water solution in a spray bottle. 

Then, use tweezers to remove the decal from the corner and spray the solution between the chalkboard and sticker. Doing this will loosen the adhesive and make it easy to remove. 

Continue doing this until you’ve completely removed the decal. Take your time to prevent damage to the chalkboard surface. After removing the sticker, spray the solution on the board and wipe it with a clean cloth to remove any stubborn adhesive.

If soapy water doesn’t remove all the decal’s adhesive, try using an adhesive remover like Goo Gone to get any remnants.
